CHARLESTON, WV -

The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has hired two new associates, adding depth to Spilman's defense litigation and bankruptcy and creditors' rights teams.

Gordon L. Mowen II will focus on general defense litigation in his law practice. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville and his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. 

Tai C. Shadrick's primary area of practice is general defense litigation. She earned her undergraduate degree from Towson University and her law degree from West Virginia University School of Law. 

They both will practice in the firm's Charleston office.

Founded in 1864, Spilman has more than 140 attorneys. The firm also has offices in Morgantown, Wheeling, Harrisburg, Pa., Pittsburgh, Winston-Salem, N.C., and Roanoke, Va.
