BRIDGEPORT, WV -

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing has hired two new skilled machinists at the RCBI Bridgeport Advanced Technology Center.

Jesse N. Williams Jr. of Ellamore has been hired as a computer numeric dontrol instructor at the Bridgeport facility. He is a 2005 graduate of RCBI's Machinist Training Programs. Richard A. Reed of Elkins is joining RCBI Bridgeport as a machinist.

Williams also is a 2012 graduate of RCBI's CNC Specialist Program.

Before joining RCBI, Williams had worked as a finisher and CNC specialist at Corhart Refractories in Buckhannon since 1996. 

A 1993 graduate of Coalton High School, he earned a 1,080-hour industrial maintenance certification from the Randolph County Vocational Technical Center and studied AutoCAD, drafting and CAD/CAM CNC programming at the Randolph County Wood Technology Center. 

As a student at RCBI, he earned certifications in manual machining and CNC programming and machining, as well as two-year associate degrees in applied science from Marshall Community and Technical College in 2005 and applied science technical studies from Mountwest Community and Technical College in 2012.

Reed graduated from Mentor (Ohio) High School and went to work as a tool and die maker in the aerospace industry in northern Ohio. Prior to joining RCBI, he was employed as a machinist in Elkins.
