Update: Police Looking for Suspects after Wheeling Island Shooting

UPDATE: Police are searching for Steven Clay Kyle Jr. He is facing attempted murder charges after an early Saturday morning shooting on Wheeling Island.

Kyle Jr. is 22-years-old, 5 feet 5 inches tall 140 pounds. He goes by the alias, Chede and has a tattoo that says "Becka" on his neck.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous, so if you see him, do not approach him.

UPDATE: Wheeling Police are searching for suspects after one man was hospitalized in an early morning shooting Saturday on Wheeling Island.

It was around 4 a.m. when police first received a call about shots being fired in the area. A man flagged police down on Florida Street on the island  after he had been shot multiple times in his arms.  The victim was immediately taken to Wheeling Hospital and shortly after, police noticed bullet holes on a door on Vermont Street.

"We have a couple people of interest that we're going to try and track down and speak to them with their involvement if any," said Wheeling Police Detective Matt Taylor. "We have had some witnesses come forward so far at this point and hopefully their information leads us in the right direction to get the shooter."

 

ORIGINAL: A man is in the hospital suffering from several gunshot wounds after Wheeling Police responded to shots fired at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning near Vermont Street in Wheeling Island.

According to Wheeling Police, injuries from the gun shots are not believed to be fatal.
