Police in one Ohio community are under fire after they captured a suspect and then lost track of him.
Portsmouth Police say Zachary Hall led them on a high speed chase through town, which ended with a crash in the Rosemount community off of Route 23 on Monday evening. Upon catching Hall, police sent him to Saint Mary's Hospital because he was injured. Police say they did not accompany Hall to the hospital, and on Wednesday, Hall walked out.
The story has spurred outrage from several on social media who are asking, "If the police spent so much time and energy catching Hall, why didn't an officer keep watch over him in the hospital?"
Portsmouth police say this isn't the first time they've lost a suspect this way, and other agencies tell us it is common. If you have information on where Zachary Hall is, call the Lauttamus Security crime fighters tip line at 1-800-223-0312
