UPDATE: Death of 6-Month-Old in Yorkville Under Investigation, Sheriff Says Child Living in 'Deplorable Conditions'

New details have shown that no bruises were found on the baby's body, but Sheriff Abdalla is still considering the death suspicious. The mother, uncle and uncle's fiance have all been questioned. Authorities say they will receive preliminary results of an autopsy report soon.

 


 

WTRF.COM UPDATE:

Multiple agencies continued their investigation on Monday afternoon after an infant was found dead in a playpen in Yorkville on Sunday. Authorities said the were set to receive preliminary results of an autopsy report late Monday on the 6-month-old child.

Sheriff Fred Abdalla said his department, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Yorkville Police Department and County Prosecutor Jane Hanlin are all working together to find out how it happened.

Sheriff Abdalla said the child was living in "deplorable conditions."

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, along with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Yorkville Police, and the county prosecutor, are investigating the death of a six-month-old child in Yorkville. 

Authorities were made aware of the death on Sunday afternoon. According to Sheriff Fred Abdalla, an autopsy will be performed in Cleveland.
