The Shadyside Tigers improved to 7-0 with a 34-7 win over Wheeling Central at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The Tigers had three backs with over 100 yards rushing. Leading the way, was junior quarterback Austin Dorris, who piled up 190 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns. Chris Littel had 130 yards on the ground, and hauled in a 50-yard Dorris scoring strike. Junior running back Eric Howell added a pair of touchdowns and 100 yards on the ground.
The Maroon Knights scored first on an Isaac Rine touchdown pass to Parker Henry, before Henry left the game with another knee injury. He missed all of last season with a torn ACL, but this injury is to his opposite knee. And they're still unsure of the extent of the injury.
The Tigers scored the games final 34 points.
Shadyside (7-0), the top team in the Ohio Division 7 Region 25 rankings, will visit sagging Union Local (3-4) next Friday night.
Wheeling Central, now 5-2, is off next week.
