Donald Barbe, convicted in 1999 on eight counts of incest, sexual assault and sexual abuse by a custodian for offenses that involved a relative and one other victim, has been re-sentenced and has been ordered to serve 10-20 years in prison.

Barbe's original sentence was 10 to 25 years, and he has served 14 of those years. He must serve a minimum of 20 years total, so he could be released in as few as six years.

A Wheeling man convicted of multiple sex crimes 14 years ago will be re-sentenced.

Donald Barbe's original sentence was 10 to 25 years, However, Circuit Judge David Simms ruled there was a numerical mistake and he was sentenced under the wrong statute. So, Simms threw out the old sentence and ordered a new one.

Barbe was convicted in 1999 on eight counts of incest, sexual assault and sexual abuse by a custodian for offenses that involved a relative and one other victim.

Barbe will be back in court on November 14.
