Bellaire Gazebo Closed to the Public After Ohio Department of Commerce Finds Problems With Concrete, Electricity
The gazebo in Bellaire's city park was just opened
last May, and now, it's roped off with caution tape.
City officials say
a citizen wrote two letters to the state indicating there were
problems with the structure. So, earlier this week, the Ohio Department
of Commerce sent a crew to inspect it, and they said they did find
problems, reportedly with the concrete work and the electricity.
Village Administrator Dan Marling said, "So they did come in two days ago and inspected the gazebo.
They found some upgrades that they would like to see done and so the
mayor has instructed us to go ahead and make sure that those are done so
we have closed the gazebo until those are completed."
Marling says they don't know how extensive, or
expensive, the repairs will be. He says it will probably involve
excavating so they'll hold off until after next Tuesday's "Boo In The
Park," event is over so there's not a construction zone in the way. He
says it will be finished by the end of the year.
