Pooch Parade Scheduled to Benefit Wheeling Dog Park
WHEELING, W.Va -
On Saturday, November 2nd, Centre Market in Wheeling will be hosting a Halloween Pooch Parade to benefit the soon to be built Wheeling Dog Park.
Prizes will be given out by celebrity judges to owners of the best dressed dogs and all the proceeds will go towards the Wheeling Dog Park.
Organizer Jeremy Morris has an idea of what his dog will dress up as, but says you'll have to wait until parade day to see all the costumes.
"I'm not going to give it away just yet, but we did get a costume and she will be parading around with everybody else," he says. "I'm usually not too big on dogs in costumes, but it's going to be a good event for the Wheeling Dog Park. I look forward to a lot of people coming out and having a good time."
Prizes will be given out for scariest Costume, most original costume, and best overall costume. The parade will go around Centre Market and starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd with registration taking place beforehand.
Morris says they're working out the final details of the of the dog park property location and getting the title sorted out. He hopes to be cutting the ribbon on the new dog park by late spring or early summer of next year.
