Man Holds Portsmouth, Ohio Police at Bay for Six Hours During Standoff
Authorities spent several hours trying to resolve a stand-off with a war veteran in Portsmouth, Ohio over the weekend.
Residents of a public housing complex say it started when John Locher allegedly fired several rounds through his door, hitting the door of a woman who lived across the hall from him. That woman was pulled out of her window by firefighters.
After nearly six tense hours, Locher surrendered to police. There are no reported injuries. Both Locher and his across-the-hall neighbor were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Neighbors said Locher had been acting erratically over the past few days.
