The Wheeling area Habitat for Humanity called it
"Final Push Saturday" as they rushed to finish the construction of a home in
South Wheeling this weekend.
Volunteers completed plumbing, electrical, painting and
all the other touches that make a house a home, and the goal is to have the recipients in the home before Thanksgiving.
About 20 volunteers showed up, including about a half a dozen from
Bethany College fraternity.
"Final Push Saturday," was the brainchild of
Bob Contraguerro of Panhandle Cleaning & Restoration. They are a
major sponsor of the building on 33rd Street.
Lunch for the volunteers
was provided by the Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center of Wheeling.
