Authorities are investigating the cause of a fatal ATV accident in St. Clairsville that claimed the life of 13-year-old Dominick Nardo.
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon on Elizabeth Street, which is located just off of Route 9 near Interstate 70.
On Wednesday, clergy members were called in to St. Clairsville Middle School to help students deal with the tragedy. Superintendent Walt Skaggs says Nardo
was extremely popular and students and faculty were highly emotional upon hearing the news.
The Ohio River Valley Council posted the following message on their Facebook page on Wednesday: "It is with a very heavy heart and tears that I let our extended Scout family know that we have lost one of our Boy Scouts as a result of an ATV accident. Dominick Nardo, 13 of Troop 59 out of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville passed away yesterday. No words can console the loss of a child. Please keep Janelle and Tony Nardo their families and the staff, students and fellow Scouts close to Dominick in your prayers today. Dom now flies on Eagle wings."
