Three Stolen Vehicles Discovered During Arrest of Wanted Teen in Ohio County

Ohio County Sheriff Pat Butler is crediting good police work in the arrest of a wanted juvenile and recovery of three stolen vehicles on Wednesday.

Deputies received a tip on the location of a 17-year-old Wheeling boy wanted for escaping from a detention facility in Pennsylvania. They found and arrested the teen at Pine Hill Apartments in Wheeling, but  three deputies began investigating further, and after running license plates in the parking lot, found a truck stolen from Belmont County, a trailer stolen from Elm Grove, and an ATV stolen from south Wheeling.

Lt. Nelson Croft, Lt. Kevin Goode, and Corporal Rod Vaught all assisted in the arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicles.

The teen appeared in court on Thursday on the escape warrant. Other charges are pending.
