Parts of the Ohio Valley were cleaning up downed trees and debris Friday morning after a line of rare, strong November storms swept through the area.
Wind gusts up to 43 miles-per-hour were reported as the storms swept through around 3 a.m. Friday. About a quarter inch of rainfall fell over the Ohio Valley.
The storms were brief in duration, taking only 20 or 30 minutes to move through most areas. Sporadic power outages were reported Friday morning.
As of noon Friday, American Electric Power of Ohio reported 976 people without power in Marshall County, while Jefferson County has slightly over 550 customers out. Mon Power reports 2,540 without power in Wetzel County and 392 in Tyler County. 1,570 are without power in Brooke County.
Moundsville Middle School was without power and was turning buses around to take students back home as of 7:50 a.m. Friday morning.
