A fundraiser over the weekend will help wounded veterans enjoy outdoor hobbies that they thought would be impossible.
Outside the Tiger Pub in Shadyside, volunteers for LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, and rotisserie chicken to raise money to purchase track chairs. The chairs are meant be used in the great outdoors by severely injured service men and women at the Leek Hunting Preserve in Pennsylvania.
The preserve is used to thank veterans for their service and provide recreational programs such as hunting and fishing. LEEK is a completely free, volunteer-run facility dedicated to offering therapeutic outdoor programs for wounded veterans with all levels of disabilities.
