West Virginia Wesleyan receives gifts to renovate classrooms

Posted: Updated:

West Virginia Wesleyan College has received gifts and pledges totaling $310,000 to renovate six classrooms. The renovations will include state-of-the-art technology, projectors, whiteboards, new seating and infrastructure to accommodate current and future technology needs.

The gifts and pledges were received from the College's Emeritus Club, Eleanor Barnhart, Tony and Lorna Lindeman, Jack and Sylvia Burry, Dr. Pat and Leigh Howard Fleming, and Dr. Scott and Peg Strickler. The Barnhart gift is in honor of Cameron David Ives. The donations from the Flemings are being made in memory of Dr. John Warner, professor of sociology, while the gifts from the Stricklers are in memory of Dr. Ernest Capstack, professor of chemistry.

"We are extremely grateful for the generous support of these donors," Wesleyan President Pamela Balch said in a news release. "The renovation of these classrooms will help Wesleyan attract the next generation of outstanding faculty and students."
