The investigation into a fatal train accident in West Virginia began on Monday morning.
One person was killed after being hit by a train in Marmet, West Virginia. The incident occurred on MacCorkle Avenue and 98th Street at about 4 a.m. Sunday morning. Police, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department and CSX are all investigating the accident.
CSX says they are bringing in experts to speak with the elementary schools in town about train safety as a result of recent train accidents.
Back in October of this year, a logging truck collided with a passenger train at a Route 250 crossing on Cheat Mountain near the Randolph and Pocahontas county line. The crash killed the driver of the truck and a total of 23 people were treated for injuries sustained following the accident.
