    When it comes to preparing students for college and the careers looming in their futures, Jose V. Sartarelli, Milan Puskar dean of West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics, said, “the one size fits all solution is not going to cut it.”

Davis & Elkins College will perform a musical presentation to the community with "Festival of Lessons and Carols" at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature readings and musical performances by D&E faculty and staff and the College Choir.

The service will be a blend of lyrics, hymns, and readings all with the themes of light, hope and the birth of Christ.

Readers for the Lessons include D&E Benfield-Vick Chaplain and associate pastor at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church the Rev. Kevin Starcher, Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church senior pastor the Rev. Dr. Peter Vial and D&E students Sarah Satterwhite, a senior from Farmington; Ashlen Wilson, a junior from Elkins; Sarah Planakis, a freshman from Fredericksburg, Va.; and Millie Omps, a senior from Paw Paw.

Musicians include D&E artist-in-resident pianist Jack Gibbons, instructor of music and pianist Donna Baroudi-Huffman and the Davis & Elkins College Choir under the direction of Liz Marshall-MacVean.

Gibbons will perform "Christmas Bells Opus 92" and his variations on "In Dulci Jubilo" and "Stille Nacht Opus11."

Selections the choir will perform are: "In the Singing," "Giving and Listening," "Let There Be Peace," "Christmas Bells Opus 92," "Angel's Gloria" and "Joy in the Morning."

Members of the Davis & Elkins College Concert Choir are: Taylor Prince, a sophomore from Fraziers Bottom; Emily Richards, a freshman from Elkins; Thomas Robbins, a freshman from Culpeper, Va.; Ashley Stitely, a senior from Philippi; Hunter Tanner, a freshman from Mill Creek; Heather Wilson, a senior from Elkins; Elena Zanella, a freshman from Culpeper, Va.; Sabrina Poessl, a freshman from Fuerth, Germany; Jacob Antoline, a freshman from Elkins; Elizabeth Chaar, a junior from Charleston; Cassidy Conner, a freshman from Lebanon, Va.; Sara Davenport, a sophomore from Spencer; Melissa Denise, a sophomore from Montrose; Renee Denise, a sophomore from Montrose; Cassidy Dickens, a sophomore from Sutton; Amanda Eriksen, a senior from Elkins; Endi Frazier, a senior from Williamsburg, Va.; Christian Gorrell, a junior from Belington; Goldie Hall, a freshman from Max Meadows, Va.; Katelynn Hanek, a sophomore from McHenry, Md.; Kaylee Harris, a sophomore from Drewryville, Va.; Marina Hill, a junior from Bridgeport; Meredith Hill, a junior from Bridgeport; Heather Redwine, a freshman from Mt. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

A good-will offering will be collected to help supply local food pantries.
