The No. 25 nationally ranked Wheeling Jesuit volleyball team earned the No. 1 ranking in the Atlantic Region as announced by the NCAA Division II Volleyball Selection Show which aired on NCAA.COM Monday, Nov. 25th at 7:30 p.m. EST.
With the No. 1 ranking, the Cardinals secure home court advantage for the NCAA's Atlantic Region Tournament for the second year in a row, set to be held on December 5-7 at the Alma Grace McDonough Center in Wheeling.
WJU finished their season with a 34-5 overall record, and a perfect 19-0 record in the Mountain East Conference. Jesuit earned their 6th-consecutive conference tournament championship on Saturday, beating Fairmont State 3-0 in the MEC Final.
WJU also makes their sixth consecutive appearance in the regional and will be hosting the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in school history. The 34-5 Cardinals are scheduled to play the No. 8 seed Broncos of Fayetteville State University (19-7) on Thursday December 5th. Game times TBD.
