Weirton, W.Va. -

Police in Weirton were investigating on Monday after they reportedly found a woman's body in the apartment of an armed robbery suspect.

On Saturday night, the Weirton Police Department responded to a call that a woman had been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had also allegedly stolen her vehicle. Officers were able to identify the suspect as Leslie Craig Arnold Jr. after interviewing several people in the area.

When officers searched Arnold's residence at Overbook Towers on Cove Road in Weirton, they reportedly discovered a deceased woman concealed inside. Due to the ongoing investigation, her identity is not being released.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and the Steubenville Police Department later arrested Arnold in downtown Steubenville on Sunday.

The 47-year-old was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail. He is waiving extradition and will be sent back to Weirton to face charges of armed robbery.

Police chief Bruce Marshall and Captain Skagg are currently in Charleston where the autopsy is being performed and since the investigation continues - the victim's name is not being released at this time.
