New Bridgeport K-9 Already Catching Suspects

Posted: Updated:

The newest K-9 to the Bridgeport Police Department is already catching criminals.

Officer Kevin Yates said he was patrolling along National Road when he saw 26-year-old Curtis Schyball acting suspiciously. Yates found a warrant out for Schyball and when he approached-- Schyball reportedly took off running south between Sutton's Auto and Interstate 70. Santos, the new Dutch Shepherd K-9, was able to track him down.

Yates says he told Schyball if he didn't stop Santos would be coming after him, and that's when Schyball stopped and laid down in the middle of the median.

Yates and Santos just finished the required training Friday of last week, and it already seems to be paying off.
