County: Jackson

High School: Ripley High School

GPA: 4.05

Activities and achievements: Sarah plays varsity basketball and also helps with the athletic training program for her school's sports teams. She is president of Mu Alpha Theta (the math honor society) and is a member of student government and the National Honor Society. She's also in the marching band. Having already accumulated almost 200 hours of community service, Sarah volunteers with the Jackson County Teen Leaders, Thomas Memorial Health System's VolunTEEN Program, Jackson County Country Kids 4-H and TransFormed Youth Ministries of the Evans Church of God.

Plans: Sarah plans to attend either Marshall University or West Virginia University and major in exercise physiology. She then wants to earn a doctorate in physical therapy, a career she chose after seeing how therapy helped her recovery from a basketball injury.
