Jesuit Volleyball Falls In Final Four

Wheeling Jesuit's record-setting 2013 season came to an end in the NCAA Semifinals with a 3-0 loss to Concordia-St. Paul. The Golden Bears won by scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-12.

The Cardinals finish the season with a record of 38-6. After making it to the Elite Eight the two previous seasons, WJU made its first-ever appearance in the national semifinals.

Concordia-St. Paul (34-3) won its 41st-consecutive NCAA Tournament match with its win over WJU and is in pursuit of its seventh-straight NCAA championship.

Jenna Pew finished her stellar career at Wheeling Jesuit with 10 kills and was in on four blocks for the Cardinals. Andrea Thobe had 19 assists and Makenzie Ripley had nine digs.

The Golden Bears had five players with 10 kills or more led by 12 from Emily McDonough, who also had a team-high 17 digs. Concordia-St. Paul finished the match with 54 kills and just 12 errors. The Golden Bears advance to face BYU-Hawaii for the national championship.
