Ihlenfeld says seven sentenced, 11 entered guilty pleas this week in federal court

U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II reports seven individuals were sentenced to prison and 11 others entered guilty pleas this week in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Sentenced were:

 

  • Daniel Robert Myers Jr., 35, of Hedgesville; 46 months, and Jordan Brooke Gambrell, 20, also of Hedgesville, 18 months, for possession with intent to distribute heroin in November 2012.  
  • Danny Ray Terry, 54, Martinsburg, 37 months in prison for failing to register and update registration as a sex offender when he moved to West Virginia in 2011.
  • Brian Nickens, 38, of Shenandoah Junction, 30 months in prison for admitting to being a drug user in possession of a firearm in March 2012.
  • Eric Scott Taylor, 34, of Gerrardstown, four months for distribution of marijuana.
  • Perry Joseph Jenkins, 33, of Martinsburg, four years probation for the sale of firearms to a prohibited person.
  • Benjamin Chavis II, 54, of Martinsburg, three years probation for distribution of heroin.

 

Myers, Gambrell, Nickens, Terry and Taylor were remanded to the custody of U.S. marshals pending assignment to a federal prison.

Entering guilty pleas were:

 

  • Daniel Joseph Hanst, 27; 
  • Brandi Renee Smith, 26; Lisa Nicole Smith, 24; and 
  • Anthony William Ours, 32, all of Fairmont, for possession of pseudoephedrine to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and attempt to possess pseudoephedrine to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamines. Hanst and Brandi Smith remain in custody, while Lisa Smith and Ours posted bond.
  • Eric Scott Pennington, 30, of Parsons, and Misty Autumn Grafton, 26, of Hambleton, possession of pseudoephedrine to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. 
  • Ronnie Gerald Belt, 52, of Camden on Gauley, possession of material used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. He remains in custody pending sentencing.
  • Traci Lynn Wilson, 27, of Moorefield, distribution of methamphetamines within 1,000 feet of a school. 
  • Robert Vaughn Barnette II, 28, of Weston, possession of pseudoephedrine to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. He remains in custody pending sentencing.
  • Donna Sturm, 32, of Belington, WV, distribution of marijuana and felon in possession of a firearm. 
  • Shane O. Brantley, 36, of Sutton, felon in possession of a firearm.
