Millions of minimum-wage workers across the country will be ringing in the new year with an automatic pay raise.

Ohio's minimum wage law sets a ten cent increase in the hourly wage, taking workers to $7.95 an hour.

Officials say that this is not nearly enough to achieve a livable wage, and the increased employee reliance on public assistance programs is especially acute in Ohio.
