COLUMBUS – Gold jewelry will be among the items available for bid at the State of Ohio miscellaneous property auction Saturday, Jan. 11.
This next auction will take place at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, General Services Division headquarters, located at 4200 Surface Road, Columbus, Ohio 43228. The doors open at 8 a.m. The auction itself starts at 9 a.m.
Unlike the remainder of the auction, the jewelry has minimum bids on it. Four pendants and 13 rings make up this part of the auction. Should the jewelry items fail to obtain the minimum bid, they will not be sold.
Additional items available at the auction include office furniture, electronic equipment, and a wide variety of miscellaneous items, to include exercise equipment as well as two 17-foot canoes. Several pieces of John Deere equipment also are up for auction, including a 445 lawn tractor, 520 snow thrower, and implement lift frames.
Inventory is subject to prior sale to governmental entities. Purchased items must be paid for in full the day of the sale. Cash and credit cards are accepted. All methods of payment other than cash must be approved by the auctioneers, Cassel & Associates.
Public auctions are the last step in the state's surplus program. Miscellaneous property and vehicle auctions generated more than $3.9 million during fiscal year 2013.
