Jose Davis has stepped down after five seasons as the head coach of the Bellaire Big Reds football team.
Davis complied a record of 27-25 in his career. This past season, his Big Red dug out of a 1-2 start to finish 7-3, and win the OVAC AAA championship. They also qualified for the post-season, for the second consecutive year.
"It's just time to move on," said Davis, who added he will coach the Ohio squad in this summer's Rudy Mumley OVAC All-Star Football Charity Classic in July.
Davis, a record-setting quarterback in his own right, coached the school's leader in virtually every passing category in Spencer Badia, who became first quarterback in school history, and the third quarterback in OVAC history, to pass for over 7,000 career yards.
Davis says his options are open when it comes to coaching again.
