MINGO JUNCTION, Ohio -

A former full-time firefighter and paramedic with the Mingo Junction Fire Department was indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury on Thursday.

Mathew Miller is charged with two counts of theft of drugs, one count of attempted theft of drugs, and one count of theft in office after police found he had items in his possession belonging to the fire house back in November of 2013.

Mingo Junction Police Chief Steve Maguschak said two separate investigations were launched in the case back in November, with the initial investigation beginning as an administrative case for missing drugs. The second investigation was carried out after police say an unsecured area had been entered.
