Florida Native Indicted on Murder Charges in Death of Wheeling Jesuit Student
A 22-year-old Florida native accused in the death of Wheeling Jesuit student Kevin Figaniak last year was one of 24 people indicted by the Ohio County Grand Jury during their January meeting.
Craig Tyler Peacock was indicted on murder charges. Jarrett Mathis Chandler, 24, of Winnfield, La., also accused in the crime, was charged with a misdemeanor charge of involuntary manslaughter in Ohio County Circuit Court on Monday.
Figaniak died after being attacked near the corner of Locust Avenue and National Road late one night in August of 2013. A second victim was on the scene with Figaniak and told police the two of them were attacked by 3 or 4 men who then fled the area before police arrived.
