Wheeling Woman, Pa. Man Accused of Attempting to Steal Trailer From Hotel Parking Lot

Posted: Updated:

Two people were arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly attempting to steal a trailer from the Best Value Inn parking lot in St. Clairsville.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Belmont County 911 Center received a call reporting that two individuals were stealing the trailer from the lot, and had left the area. The vehicle was later found and stopped by officers, and it was determined that the truck itself, a 2013 Nissan Frontier, had been stolen from Cambridge, Ohio in December of 2013.

The vehicle's driver, Michael Hostinsky, 34, of Claysville, Pa., was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and driving under suspension. The vehicle's passenger, Misty Sutterfield, 35, of Wheeling, was charged with receiving stolen property. Both are currently being held in the Belmont County Jail.

It was also determined the trailer that was attempted to be stolen had already been reported stolen from Wheeling.

The Belmont County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.
