Park Footballers Headed To PSAC Rivals

Wheeling Park is sending three players from their state semi-final team to Gannon University of the PSAC. Record Setting Quarterback Zach Phillips , Offensive Lineman Matt Hackathorn and Linebacker Geremy Paige , this years Huff Award winner as the best defensive player in the state of West Virginia.

Meanwhile their teammate Eric McCave is headed to another PSAC school , Mercyhurst. Gannon's big rival, where he will play defensive-end.

Phillips leaves Park holding a number of records including season and career passing yards along with touchdown passes for a season.

Phillips was first team all-state, first team all TRAC and first team all OVAC.

Hackathorn was named first team all-state, TRAC and OVAC.

Paige was a two-time first team all-state linebacker and was named all-state team captain.

He was also a two-time first team all TRAC and OVAC.

McCave was first team all TRAC and OVAC, he finished third in the state in sacks.

 

 

 

 

 

Now these three long time friends will have the chance to continue their playing careers together.
