A few months ago, the "His Hands Extended" food pantry in Toronto was on the verge of closing its doors for good, but now, it's in the hands of new ownership, the Reverend Eric Frey from Toronto Church of the Nazarene.
Frey wanted to make sure the food pantry kept running, so he stepped in. Frey said it has been a bit of a whirlwind, but with the help of great volunteers he said the future is looking bright.
"The future is really bright. I think its going to take us some time to get the foundation built back up but I'm really confident in the direction we are going in serving the people of Toronto," Frey said.
The previous director, Reverend Lloyd Hill, who has left Toronto for another position at another church, resigned a couple months ago. Frey said he was excited when this opportunity came up. Frey said the pantry's motto will be "compassion as a lifestyle."
