LEWISBURG, WV -

The Hot Club of San Francisco will be in Lewisburg to help celebrate Valentine's Day weekend with a performance at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Carnegie Hall.

Love songs and driving gypsy jazz are a combination made famous during the 20's and 30's in Paris by the legendary Hot Club de France. Following World War I, the city became a gathering place for artists from around the world and The Hot Club's unique sound of gypsy jazz reflects this inter-wartime collection of cultures.

The Hot Club of San Francisco borrows the instrumentation of violin, bass, and guitars from the original Hot Club while breathing new life into the music with innovative arrangements of classic tunes and original compositions from the group's superb lead guitarist, Paul Mehling.

The group also features the violin of twice Grammy Award-winning Evan Price, the voice of Isabelle Fontaine and a swinging rhythm section. Let magical guitar and fiddle solos along with Fontaine's mix of sweet and sultry songs, take you on a ride down the Seine and through the heart of the city as the Hot Club performs their show, "Meet Me in Paris."

Tickets are on sale by calling the box office at 304-645-7917 or online at www.carnegiehallwv.org. Tickets prices range from $18-28. Discounts are available for members, students, seniors and military.
