Hancock County, W.Va. -
The Hancock County Courthouse has joined the likes of other courthouses in the Ohio Valley by adding a state-of-the-art security system with even more man power to back it up.
Hancock County commissioners celebrated the grand opening of the front entrance of the courthouse and the new security system on Thursday. Commission President Danny Greathouse Commended Sheriff Ralph Fletcher for his hard work getting this together and knows the employees inside the courthouse will now feel safer.
"We hired many, many people to work here it's going to be great, it's a great addition," said Greathouse. "I think the people coming through are going to feel more secure, it's a great addition to our courthouse."
The new security was officially implemented on Monday with an X-ray machine, metal detector, sets of cameras, a gate and 15 new security guards and bailiffs. Greathouse adds that this is just another addition to how they're improving Hancock County.
