The primary defendant in an Ohio Valley prescription painkiller ring was arraigned on Tuesday, but on separate charges.

37-year-old Brian Schultz appeared in front of Magistrate Joe Roxby on Tuesday morning. Schultz is facing charges stemming from an incident on January 22, in which emergency responders arrived at his home for a self-inflicted medical issue. Schultz allegedly became combative with officers.

Schultz is facing two counts of obstructing and two counts of battery on an officer.

Schultz was also named Monday as a main defendant in a prescription painkiller ring.
