Heart-shaped pizzas are ready to roll out at all nine DeFelice Brothers' Pizza locations across the Ohio Valley, just in time for Valentine's Day.
The medium sized pizzas do more than give you a night off of cooking. $1 from each heart-shaped pizza sold is donated to the American Heart Association. In the past 30 plus years, DeFelice has raised more than $35,000 for the fight against heart disease.
The cause is close to heart for owner & founder Dom DeFelice, diagnosed with a restrictive heart condition when he was young. He said the customers keep the tradition going.
"Our customers, you know, they like it, and they respond well so we keep doing it. It gives us an opportunity to donate back to the American Heart Association," DeFelice said. "It's actually your money that goes back to them - we just collect it for them."
Pizzas are $10.99 and will be sold Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week only. You can chose any toppings you would like, pre-order it, deliver it, or pick it up yourself.
There are also additional pledge hearts in the stores if you wish to donate more to the American Heart Association.
