There was some fierce competition at the Woodsdale Spelling Bee on Wednesday afternoon, so much so, that it was 12 rounds before a champion was named.
Finally, Zac Taylor emerged as the winner. Taylor has been a participant in the spelling bee for three years, and has now clinched the title as a fifth-grader.
The second runner up in Wednesday's competition was Abigail Shanley and in third place was Andrew Tyska.
Taylor and Shanley will now represent Ohio County at the state level.
