    A judicial tribunal has dismissed a petition calling for the removal of McDowell County Magistrate Steve L. Cox.

Four Maryland residents have been charged with conspiring to deal heroin and crack cocaine in the Eastern Panhandle, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II said.

A federal grand jury in Martinsburg returned a six-count indictment charging Keyyonn Robert Cornish Johnson, 24; Sean Tavon Stogdon, 23; Marcel Edmonds, 23; and Marquese Tavon Ward, 23, with drug trafficking in Berkeley County.

All four have been charged with a single count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin and crack cocaine.

Johnson also is charged with aiding and abetting distribution of heroin, aiding and abetting distribution of crack cocaine and aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute heroin.

Stogdon also is charged with aiding and abetting distribution of heroin, aiding and abetting distribution of crack cocaine; aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute heroin, and aiding and abetting distribution of heroin.

Edmonds and Ward also are charged with aiding and abetting distribution of heroin and aiding and abetting possession with intent to deliver heroin.

This case will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jarod J. Douglas and was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg police, the Berkeley County sheriff's deputies and Jefferson County sheriff's deputies, as well as uniformed officers of the West Virginia State Police.
