PITTSBURGH (AP) - If the winter storm tracks as predicted, up to a foot of heavy, wet snow is possible in Pennsylvania. Forecasters call for the snow to begin falling across much of the state by late tonight, and continue into tomorrow afternoon. Pittsburgh, State College, the Lehigh Valley, and Philadelphia are expected to get at least 6 inches.

About 5,000 people attended yesterday's ceremony in Philadelphia commissioning the USS Somerset.

Tom Corbett as he tries to get a state budget approved is figuring out what changes can pass the Legislature for the public-sector pension plans that cover state government and public school employees. The Corbett administration wants to avoid hundreds of millions in pension contributions over the next few years.
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Former Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson says she's planning a challenge to Republican U.S. Rep. Scott Perry in the 4th Congressional District. The Democrat is circulating petitions to get on the ballot. The district includes York and Adams counties and parts of Dauphin and Cumberland counties.
