The No.4 seed Morgantown Mohigans took home the Wheeling Hospital/OVAC 5A championship game trophy after a 76-69 victory over No.2 Wheeling Park at Ohio University Eastern.

The Mohigans, who were beaten by Wheeling Park by 25 points a month ago in Wheeling, had four double-figure scorers. Morgantown jumped out to a 23-12 lead after one quarter, and led 42-31 at the half. The Patriots got as close as three points, 63-60 down the stretch, but Morgantown made 12 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter, to seal the victory for coach Tom Yester.

Wheeling Park, playing without a senior on the roster, got 18 points from junior guard Ryan Reinbeau, and 18 points from sophomore guard Elijah Bell.

Wheeling Park falls to 12-5 on the season. Morgantown improves to 9-7.
