Auto Technician Brotherhood Collects Funds for Wheeling Man's Kidney Transplant
A Wheeling man is receiving much needed help toward his medical expenses, and it's all in the name of brotherhood.
"PDR Nation" is a non-profit serving the international automotive paintless dent repair community, and they have set up a fund used to assist PDR technicians' families in case of extreme crisis.
Their first recipient of 2014 is Darnell Burch, a technician specializing in hail repair, which requires months of travel every year, however, his dialysis has made him all but unable to work. PDR Nation, through the fund, has raised more than $5,000 to help with a kidney transplant.
The fund was started as an idea by PDR Chairman Ryan Hampton who took up collections as a way to help those in need. PDR officials say they may not always agree on everything, but as everyone demonstrated this year, they are a brotherhood.
