A Scarbro man was sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for distributing cocaine, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said.

John Wayne Taylor Jr., 37, was ordered to spend two years and nine months in prison after pleading guilty in November to selling .41 grams of cocaine to an individual cooperating with police.

In imposing the sentence, the court also considered Taylor's admission that he had distributed 300 oxycodone pills and roughly 4 grams of cocaine over a period of time.

Taylor was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Thomas E. Johnston. The case was investigated by the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John File.
