Devon Fuller, left, and Brandon Phelps, right, are accused in the murder of a Bellaire woman in 2012.
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -
The case against a man who allegedly raped and murdered a 92-year-old Bellaire woman will begin Monday in Belmont County.
Officials said a jury for the Devon Fuller trial should be seated sometime Friday morning.
There were nearly 300 prospective jurors for the case, too many for the courthouse to handle, so many had to fill out their jury questionnaires in the social hall of St. Mary's Church in St. Clairsville.
Fuller is one of two men accused of the rape, aggravated robbery and brutal murder of 92- year-old Lydia Ashworth in her Bellaire home in 2012. If convicted, he faces the possibility of the death penalty. The other man accused in the crime, Brandon Phelps still awaits trial.
