The Wheeling Nailers took to the ice against Cincinnati on Sunday, but they were also helping take on another opponent, too - childhood cancer.
$1 from each adult ticket sold at the game went to the 'Hope or Hines' campaign to help Hines Rotriga, a 2-year old Wheeling boy battling cancer. Members of the Rotriga family and other supporters helped sell ' Hope for Hines merchandise' and gave away gift baskets as well. The Rotriga family say they have greatly appreciated the community's support.
The First Presbyterian Church in Wheeling also held a 'Hope For Hines' fundraiser on Sunday.
According to the Hope for Hines Facebook page, Hines is doing well and is full of energy.
