To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, one local business not only held a celebration full of music and the Highland Games, but brought the community together to support a young local boy.
Hundreds poured in for the activities at McGovern's Pub including Celtic heritage competitions called the "Highland Games," in which contestants were required to wear a kilt. They were also shaving heads for Hines Rotriga, a Wheeling boy battling cancer.
Store manager Matt McGovern said they enjoy holding fundraisers and feel this one was important locally. He said, "Someone approached us from the Hines group about "shaving the heads for Hines" this year and since the whole community is getting behind that, we wanted to do that as well."
