A man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident on Tuesday morning in Wheeling.
According to Wheeling Police, Juan Harris, of Cleveland, was under the influence of PCP when he attacked an individual on Locust Avenue in Wheeling. Around 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting a disorderly male with a knife arguing with a female at a Locust Avenue residence. Officers arrived on the scene to find Harris brandishing two knives, pinning a female behind a porch swing on the porch of the residence.
Harris reportedly immediately threw the knives into the side yard, and officers ordered him off the porch. Harris allegedly refused to comply and had to be taken into custody by force. The female was uninjured.
Harris was arrested on charges of attempted murder and reportedly admitted to police he had been smoking PCP. He was taken to an area hospital where he was being treated as of Tuesday afternoon, before being arraigned and transported to the regional jail.
