Search Continues for Man Who Robbed United Bank in Wheeling at Knifepoint

The search continued Wednesday for the suspect in an armed robbery at the United Bank on 12th and Main streets in Wheeling.

The robbery was reported shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and Wheeling Police quickly responded to the scene, as well as Wheeling Police K-9 units.

Police were searching for a young, white male in a green hoodie who fled on foot. The suspect reportedly used a knife in the robbery and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police, the suspect ran up 12th Street after robbing the bank, jumped a wooden fence between Ernie's Cork and Bottle and the bank, and ran through a parking lot to Market Street. From there, his path was unknown.
