On Sunday, Wheeling Police and Fire traded in their duty boots for hockey skates.

The annual "Guns and Hoses" game took place Sunday at noon at WesBanco Arena. The valley's own police officers and firefighters took on Pittsburgh Police, prior to the Wheeling Nailers playing Elmira at 3 p.m.

Several activities took place during the day. The honor guard presented the colors, Wheeling police K9 Unit was on hand, an extrication demonstration was held during the first intermission of the Nailers Game, and fire prevention information was available near the box office.

A portion of ticket sales went to Youth Services Systems Winter Freeze Shelter.

Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration sponsored the game by providing a free ticket for every WAHA player as well as providing food for the teams and family after the game.

The final score was 5 to 3, with the valley winning.
