Wheeling area residents had the chance to get a great meal while helping support a worthy cause Sunday.
On March 30th, Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center hosted its 18th Annual Spaghetti Dinner. The dinner began at 11:30 a.m. and at 5 p.m., becomes open to the poor of the community for no charge.
Last year, the event raised more than $55,000. P.J. Reindel, director of the center, said that the dinner is the center's only fundraiser other than a steak fry in July.
Over 100 volunteers came out to help and the center expected to sell around 2,000 plates.
The cost of the dinner was $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
