Huntington police have charged five more women with prostitution after they allegedly propositioned an undercover officer in the vicinity of Sixth Avenue.

Charged with third-offense felony prostitution were:

  • Jennifer Johnson, 23, of Huntington,
  • Tracy Blake (also known as Tracy Langdon and Tracy Ross), 38, of Huntington,
  • Belinda Fuller, 40, of Huntington,
  • Barbara Fulton, 58, of Ranger and
  • Tabitha Hodges, 19, of Lexington, N.C., also was charged with first-offense prostitution.

Each of the women allegedly flagged down the undercover officer and offered to perform a variety of sexual acts in exchange for money, police said.

The sting, conducted by the Huntington Police Department's Special Emphasis Unit and an undercover officer from the Huntington detachment of the West Virginia State Police, targeted Sixth Avenue between 1st and 6th streets and was a follow-up to an undercover operation March 6 that also netted five arrests.

Seven of the 10 arrests so far have been for third-offense felony prostitution, Huntington Police Capt. Rocky Johnson said is an indicator of the effort being made to curb crime in the area.

"As long as we continue to receive the calls from citizens and see the need for enforcement activity, we are going to perform these stings," Johnson said. "People who visit this area for criminal activity need to understand that the people who live and work along 6th Avenue are watching and are calling the tip line with the information needed to make these operations successful."
